VIC RUGGIERO From punk to country via ska, rocksteady, reggae, soul, swing, garage rock, and jazz, Vic Ruggiero is a New York singer and songwriter with a dedicated fan base and huge critical acclaim in his home town. Ruggiero is best known as the singer/songwriter/organist for much loved New York Ska masters The Slackers. The magic of Ruggiero’s songwriting populates rhythmically complex songs with realistically hare-brained and flawed characters; adulterous drunks, wannabe poets, poor righteous teachers, barroom rebels and cuckolded rude boys -- Ruggiero’s songs are semi-autobiographical odes to his eclectic New York neighbourhood. He is also blessed with one of the coolest voices around, regardless of genre.
